Poetry What is Faith
In His name I sit and praySeek to live out His teaching every dayWonder why I feel a void insideUntil I stop, actually listen, hear Him sayNot by your own power, but by Mine.Faith is a walk, not one of sightBut trusting He who leads from darkness to light,Emotionally, spiritually. Finally,…Ah, His message dawned insideI realized the truthFaith isn’t about religion,Tradition, useless repetitionOr practice—daily, weekly. Not about rote or self-flagellationThe mumbling of mantras.Faith is Knowing JesusWho Lived, died, rose again for you and meAn example of love, hope, truth, the Way,Changing hearts and lives as HeGuides us to His amazing grace.By Carolyn R Scheidies
