Poetry: Let Go and Let God

Let go and let God.Cliche? Maybe, and yet...Easier said than done.Letting go the need to control,Letting go pride and unforgiveness,Letting go hurts,Letting go and understanding,That life happens. That only God offers hope, wholeness and peaceTo the hurting heart. He asks in return what is both simple and hardTo a “me first” culture. He asks we come to Him,Allow Him control, God first—not me.But, when I finally “Let go and let God,”To my surprise I findRelease, security,A savior, a friend--and life.Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. --Matthew 11:28-29 (KJV)By Carolyn R ScheidiesRead more like this in Journey of Faith
