Devotion Poetry The Wisdom of Solomon

When asked, "What shall I give?"
Solomon hesitated not,
"Oh, Lord, not for myself do I plead,
but for wisdom and knowledge to wisely
rule, more than that, I do not need."

Because he asked not for himself,
But to be a ruler wise,
God blessed him with both honor and wealth,
And an empire of grand size.

Like Solomon, I want to be,
Wise in all I do,
Help me Lord to live unselfishly,
As I give my all to you.

Lord, I am not very good at taking advice. Help me learn, not only from others, but also, and most of all, from you. Amen.
