Encourage
Mood:  hug me
Topic: Share
Hebrews 3:13 GW Encourage each other every day while you have the opportunity. If you do this, none of you will be deceived by sin and become stubborn.

We all need encouragement. What we forget is that others also need encouragement. It is easy to complain and discipline than listen and encourage. Easier to look for mistakes than to praise the positive things done—in ourselves, our spouse, our children and others.

When was the last time I encouraged my spouse, kids, friends, co-workers, clerks, or even elected officials who stand on principle?

A commitment to encouragement is not a bad resolution to make for the new year.

Courage to "Shine Our Light"
Mood:  on fire
Topic: Share

II Timothy 4:2 GW Be ready to spread the word whether or not the time is right. Point out errors, warn people, and encourage them. Be very patient when you teach.

Excuses we use to "hide our light."

"I don't feel comfortable."

"I don't know enough Scripture."

Excuses we often don't verbalize.

"I'm afraid."

"Someone might get mad or hurt."

"There might be personal or professional consequences."

All these might be true. The answer you really need is for the questions...

"Do I really believe Jesus is the only way?"

"Do I want to be responsible for others going to eternity without Jesus.?

"Is my life, my career, my reputation worth the life of another?"

If we are living close to Jesus, if we know the basics of faith, we know enough to share. The key, follow God's leading and always share God's grace with love and patience. After all, neither you nor I can't save anyone. That's God's job. Grace is a choice.

Our part is to live lives of integrity and love others to Him with words and actions.

V. 5 But you must keep a clear head in everything. Endure suffering. Do the work of a missionary. Devote yourself completely to your work.
