When Life is a Mess
Topic: Faith

Psalm 145:18-19 Mkjv The LORD is near all those who call on Him, all those who call on Him in truth.  He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He also will hear their cry, and will save them.

God is not some nebulous energy or mass. He is a being who seeks a relationship with those He created for that purpose--you and me.

He asks first and foremost that we come to Him with our need, even our doubts, fears, anger and frustration and ask for His help. He responds when we ask, fully expecting Jesus to intervene.

When life is a mess, do I go to Jesus for help, or try to "fix" things myself?

Up Front and Personal
Mood:  a-ok
Topic: Faith
Job 13:15-16 GW If God would kill me, I would have no hope left. Nevertheless, I will defend my behavior to his face. This also will be my salvation because no godless person could face him.

Job has such confidence in God he trusts his life and death to him. But more, he assumes a rational God who listens to and interacts with His creation.

Is my God a cosmic "something," or the God of all who came that we might have a personal relationship with Him?

Do I have Job's type of relationship with God--Up front and personal--where it matters?

Numbers 34:12-13 GW Then the border goes along the Jordan River so that it ends at the Dead Sea. "This will be your land and the borders around it." Moses commanded the Israelites, "This is the land you will divide by drawing lots. The LORD has commanded that this land will be given to the nine-and-a-half tribes.

We often think of the Bible as having only general guidelines. The rest we figure out ourselves. But as this chapter shows, at times, God's Word gets very specific.

But we cannot know those specifics or know truth from error if we don't regularly spend time reading, studying and memorizing His Word. With that as a foundation, wr don't have to figure things out on our own for the Holy Spirit within, along with God's Word, will guide--if we ask and if we're willing to follow God's Way.

Have a need? Go to the source God's Word and prayer.

Proverbs 21:21 Whoever pursues righteousness and mercy will find life, righteousness, and honor.

God and Health

Proverbs 14:30 GW A tranquil heart makes for a healthy body, but jealousy is like bone cancer.

Quite simply, what we believe, how we live out our faith effects our health. If I allow God to forgive my past, He comes in filling me with His love, peace and hope. As I walk with Him, I learn to trust Him with today and tomorrow. Living my faith lowers stress, gives me hope and motivates me to live life.

Jesus is the key to health--mind, soul and body--because He created us. He has a vested interest in keeping us healthy. All He asks is for us to follow His plan of wholeness in Him.
