What Sort of Example Am I?
Now Playing: I Deal in Hope Daily Devotional Blog
Topic: Integrity
I Corinthians 4:16 MKJV Therefore I beseech you, be imitators of me.

How many of us have the confidence of Paul to ask others to follow what we say and do? Scary. Yet, that is what we should be able to say. We should strive to live lives of integrity and faith that when our spouse, our children and others watch us, they won't see perfection but they will see a desire to know and follow God, a commitment to live as He would have us live.

Lord, Help me live in such a way that I can ask others to watch me and follow. Amen.

Proverbs 10:29 MKJV The way of the LORD is strength to the upright; but ruin is to the workers of iniquity.

Getting Finances Under Control
Now Playing: I Deal in Hope Daily Devotional Blog
Topic: Integrity
Romans 13:8 MKJV Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves another has fulfilled the law.

This is difficult in our culture. Most of us are mired in debt, some out of need, some out of greed. But God knows debt makes us slaves. He wants to help us to financial dependance not on lending companies ie credit, but on Him.

It starts with a commitment to get out of debt, separate needs from wants, spend within income, make and follow a sensible budget and begin to pay down debts.

Our hearts are not to be divided, but to trust in God--not our credit rating. What better time to start making changes than now?

Lies and Deceit
Now Playing: I Deal in Hope Daily Devotional Blog
Topic: Integrity

Psalm 119:163-164 MKJV I hate and despise lying; but I love Your law. I praise You seven times a day because of Your righteous judgments.

God hates lies and deceit. He is the embodiment of truth. If I walk with Him, if I seek a closer relationship with Him, I will know truth. But do I seek Him? In a culture of spin, do I seek and speak truth? Do I follow so closely I can discern truth from error?

Help me, Jesus, be so close to You that I recognize truth...and follow. Amen.
